Who I Am
I'm an e-commerce writer focused on helping Shopify merchants make better software decisions. For the past several years, I've spent considerable time testing apps on Shopify development stores, documenting how they work, and understanding what matters to real merchants.
My background is in practical e-commerce — working with merchants across different industries, store sizes, and technical abilities. That experience taught me that app recommendations are only valuable when they're based on hands-on testing, transparent criteria, and honest trade-off analysis.
I started this project in 2022 as a simple blog reviewing Shopify apps. In 2024, I acquired the domain bestbundleapps.com to focus exclusively on the bundle app niche — which had become the most confusing category in the Shopify ecosystem. There are 30+ apps in the Shopify App Store, they vary wildly in quality and price, and merchants waste time trying to figure out which one is right for them.
My goal is to distill that choice down to something clear and actionable. Every review on this site reflects real testing on a real store, scored against consistent criteria I explain openly.
What I Do
Test Apps Rigorously
I install every app on a real dev store, configure it, and measure setup time, performance, feature breadth, and support quality against a consistent rubric.
Analyze the Market
I track app updates, pricing changes, merchant reviews, and ecosystem trends. This insight informs rankings and guides the data studies I publish.
Write Detailed Reviews
Each app gets a full review covering who it's for, setup experience, features, pricing, and real trade-offs (not just marketing points).
Stay Close to Merchants
I read Shopify community posts, app reviews, and feedback. Real merchant problems shape what I test and recommend.
My Philosophy
Specificity Over Generality
There's no universal best bundle app. My job is to help you find the right one for your specific store, budget, and needs. That means honest trade-off discussions, not fake universality.
Practical Over Prestigious
I care about what merchants actually use and whether it solves their problems. App age, company size, or marketing budget don't influence rankings. Performance and value do.
Transparent Over Polished
You should know exactly how I tested, what I measured, and where I might be wrong. I explain my criteria and my limitations openly.
Updated Over Static
Apps change. Pricing changes. My guides should too. I re-test regularly and publish updates when things matter enough to update.
Why BestBundleApps Exists
Bundle apps are a real choice point for Shopify merchants. Getting it right means higher average order value, better merchant experience, and faster feature iteration. Getting it wrong wastes months and money.
The problem is that most recommendations come from either:
- Marketing pages (obviously biased)
- Reddit threads (anecdotal, outdated)
- App store reviews (sampled from end users, not thorough testing)
There wasn't a place where a merchant could read a detailed, tested, regularly-updated comparison of bundle apps from someone actually invested in helping them choose well.
That's what I'm building here. A resource that merchants can trust to be thorough, honest, and practical.
